Es war wohl eine der unspektakulärsten Oscar-Verleihungen aller Zeiten. Ohne besondere Vorkommnisse strichen die Academy Awards 2016 am 28. Februar 2016 im Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles vorüber. Chris Rock versuchte mit halbgaren Witzen noch einmal auf das heiß diskutierte Thema der letzten Wochen hinzuweisen, nachdem kein dunkelhäutiger Schauspieler nominiert wurde. Einziges Highlight war der Moment, auf den alle gewartet haben. Nach sechs Nominierungen in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten wurde Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, für seine Leistung in „The Revenant“ endlich eine der begehrten Trophäen überreicht.

Darüber freute sich vor allem seine Kollegin und langjährige Freundin Kate Winslet, 40, die in dem Moment vermutlich für die einzigen Tränen des Abends sorgte. Sie selbst war ebenfalls nominiert, verlor in der Kategorie „Beste Nebendarstellerin“ allerdings gegen die 27-jährige Schwedin Alicia Vikander mit „The Danish Girl“.

Keine Tränen, Drama oder Highlights

Als "Beste Hauptdarstellerin" wurde Brie Larson, 26, für „Room“ ausgezeichnet. Der Abend verging ohne weitere Tränen, ohne Drama und leider auch ohne musikalische Highlights. Sam Smith kämpfte sich durch die „Bond“-Hymne „The Writings On The Wall“, Lady Gaga tobte sich ein wenig am Klavier aus und Dave Grohl begleitete mit der Ballade „Blackbird“ den Film in Gedenken an die, die im vergangenen Jahr von uns gingen.
